Acupuncture

A Whole Body Approach To Health That Is Rooted In Tradition

What Is Acupuncture:

This Traditional Eastern Medicine modality involves the insertion of very thin sterile needles into specific points on the body along pathways called meridians, through which Qi flows. By stimulating these points, the flow of Qi can be balanced which in turn encourages the body to promote natural healing to improve health & function.

No two acupuncture patients receive the same treatment for the same disease or discomfort. Acupuncture is designed to treat patients, not diseases. By seeing your body as a network of interdependent parts: muscle, bone, fascia, organs, blood and body fluids, as well as more subtle layers like meridians and qi, your sessions work to uncover the root cause and not just treat symptoms.

Consultation

With every new patient, we take the time to get to know your ailments & goals. Together we will create a treatment plan that works for you.

Treatment

After your new patient consult, you will receive your initial treatment to address your primary concerns.

Follow-Up

Based off your treatment plan, you will return for scheduled follow-up visits where we monitor progress & make changes as needed.

Acupuncture works cumulatively, and it is very rare that one treatment is all you will need to feel better. In the beginning, we are laying the groundwork, so it is essential to get treatments close to each other as each treatment gains momentum on the last. If treatments become too far apart in the beginning, we can lose momentum and erase the progress we've done.

Each person responds differently to acupuncture, so we usually won't know exactly how many treatments you will need until we've gone through a few sessions. A typical treatment course for chronic conditions may be around 10-12 treatments in 6 weeks, and for acute conditions it may look like 6 treatments in 4 weeks.
